The need of the modern world is to be more human and humane. Many people are mercilessly ignored, rejected and killed for no reason and fault. Some of them are killed because of their Identity or allegiance to one particular political party, caste, creed or religion. we are losing touch with humanity. Many innocent children are massacred or made to work as a child labour.
Many children are killed before they see the light of the world. Many youth are losing their track and way due to social media and what the society has to offer them. Many of them are searching for meaning and significance in their lives but do not have role models to guide them.
The model and example of St. John Bosco is still valid and in use all over the world. Today the church and the Salesians are celebrating the feast and it would be wonderful to offer a new the model of him and follow his example to work for the youth who need us so much to be their guides.
Don Bosco looked at the reality that was around him with human eyes and heart and extended his help and support to the children and showed them a right path to follow. He became to these youth a model of good and spiritual life, he followed them like a brother and father, offered whatever help and support they need to follow the Gospel way of living in the world.
As a friend he allowed the youth to grow in the image of Jesus and offered them divine and human paths to follow to be what God wants them to be. He was able to bring them out of bad and sinful situation to lead them to fullness of life with the grace of God.
