Adoration Cloistered Monastery, Vellore, Tamilnadu

10 hours drive from Pallayamkottai to Vellore....very hot climate....you can see that summer is very severe....people trying to beat the heat by walking under the shade of the trees....roadside small restaurants are packed....crowded ...people trying to avoid the heat.....or sunstroke....

 I reached early morning by 5.30am and a rickshaw was waiting for me ...the driver drove me to the Vellore Monastery about 5km....early morning but the heat was felt.....

 Reached the Monastery and at 6.30am celebrated the Sunday Morning Eucharist.....about 50 lay people...mostly doctors and nurses from the Vellore medical college and hospital.....it was refreshing to celebrate Mass.......but very hot....sweating profusely.

 After the breakfast met the Mother Superior.....planned the program for the week....we began the talks at 10am...four classes a day....I love and enjoy it.....

 After meeting the Mother Superior....there were two Nigerian men, father and son...wanted my blessing.....I prayed over....while speaking to them....they said that the son has some serious brain issues....they are here for last one month....the doctors have not admitted the young man....a mechanical engineer....waiting for the results of tests to come....meanwhile these two men are concerned as their money is running short....desperatly wanting the surgery to happen as early as possible.....I know what it means to be in a foreign land....especially when you have just limited money...raised by family and friends....they are worried....I prayed and said trust in the Lord....everything going to be alright....please pray for this young man...confused and disturbed....the father is broken....

 The monastery is at the foot of a rocky hill....the heat is more....less water....no rains....but the sisters...keep the rhythm of life....people visit the blessed sacrament....normal life goes on,....the trust in the Lord is seen.....

 The saints and mother Mary's grotto remind you that this is a holy place....deep silence....you can hear every now then the singing of the birds,,,,,,
