The Identity and role of the Provincial Minister/Custos : Br. Stefan, Vicar General

Brotherhood and minority are original features of the charism given to us by the spirit. They also shape the contemplative and apostolic dimensions of our vocation. Docile to the same spirit, we commit ourselves to live this gospel ideal to the full.
The task of the provincial minister and custos is to live, care for and develop our gospel ideal. It is demanding and complex task.
Serving and animating of the brothers is the key of looking after with tenderness, as Pope Francis exhorts us, must be lived in a continual exodus from the Old to the New Testament, from Sinai to the Mount of the Beatitudes; that is from the Law to Love freely given, fro duty to affection, from administration to animation.
Some essential aspects for the animation of the brothers:
1.    In the school of the Holy Spirit by living together as brothers, we search for and fulfill God’s will in every event and action.
2.    To be Father – pastor – animator, who walks before the fraternity, guiding it with word and example, and at times walking behind the brother who has become lost in order to find him and lead him back to the fraternal hearth.
3.    To be a teacher of prayer, especially contemplative prayer, which is specific to us.
4.    To look after the balance between the fraternal life and the many activities.
5.    Be free, serving all, without letting you be manipulated by any group but making yourselves like Paul, “all things to all”.
6.    Bring joy and enthusiasm to the fraternities: it is this that leads to rebirth.
7.    One of the most current themes today is fraternal collaboration between the circumscriptions of the Order, which has the principal purpose of reviving our charism in places where it is passing through a period of crisis.
8.    Shabbat, to help grow in the province the culture-mentality that one day a week we have the need and right to stop- to have time for ourselves.
9.    To know also how to think of oneself, to take for oneself time for reading, reflection and personal prayer.

10.To have a trusted brother – secretary in whom you an trust personally.
