This friary is a retreat house with four friars...some religious come for the personal retreat and the friars are available for guiding them....the friary is about 30 years old.....the friars also go for preaching retreats in and around....
Varanasi is holy place for Hindus, Buddhist .....there are many buddhist temples belonging to different countries.......
The friary was built by the Canadian Capuchins.....
One of the Buddhist temple....and surprisingly you will find Buddha in all the temples in various postures....
Many Buddhists come from South Asian countries......as pilgrims....
This is first stupa from which Buddha preached....
The queens of the Apostles.....run an institute for the blind girls.....i visited them along with Br. Alyosius ex- provincial minister of St. Fidelis........
Varanasi is a diocese with 125 priests....it is vast and well spread out....it s Cathedral
On the bank of the Ganges....here every day in the evening there is an Aarti performed.....thousands and thousands....gather with devotion......we joined on them.....Ganga flowing strongly as ever....
It is a great spiritual experience for these simple people who come from nook and corner of India.....Ganga is Mother.....
