The General Council expects from the Provinces a mid term report. The
reminder is sent by the General secretary and when it comes to the General
curia it is given to two general councilors to study and evaluate and they
present their findings during the General council meeting. All the General
councilors also read the report earlier and make their contributions during the
General council meeting.
. Why a Mid term report? assessment of the activities, life and
spirituality of the Province
2. Important points to be borne in mind: not just a
routine job but for good of the Province
- transparent in reporting facts and figures
- address the problems, strengths and weaknesses
- make a clear and concise overview of the real
situations
- the economic report is to be prepared and signed
by all
- performance assessment
- Leadership and service
The Goals of the Mid-term report
who writes the mid term report, what are the strategies for writing the
report, various information that the province needs to provide: statistical data,
fraternities and presences, apostolic presences, social and ecclesial context,
assessment of the term, vocation promotion, fraternal life, prayer and
evangelical counsels, apostolic life, governance and animation, suggestions for
the general council, economic and administrative asspects.....
Mission should not be activism, we do not go to a
place to do things, we go to live as brothers and proclaim the Gospel. Mission
is not a temporary activity that one can leave whenever one decides to. Mission
requires continuity and sacrifice.
What then are we to do? Mission secretariats, collaboration between
circumscription, information regarding projects, formation
He presented a power point on the missions of the Order. He said that
there are young provinces that take up missions, there are areas of mission
where there is no religious freedom and our brothers in these areas deserve
special attention. Funds are needed to support the missions ....and now the
economic situation of the Order is not at its best.
