Amalagiri Capuchin Minor Seminary, Edatt, Kannur

The friars of the fraternity, it has the first year of formation program. Every year they get around 30 candidates, who live here and at the end of the year around 70% of the candidates decided to be capuchins. It is a beautiful friary surrounded by 3 acres of Land. The garden has all kinds of fruits and vegetables. Br. Martinian is the in charge of the garden. He is 75 years old but still going strong. He works the whole day along with the brothers and friars. They have no workers for the Garden except a cook. They are already practicing the grace of working. Br. Martinian has worked in the Historical institute in Rome for 7 years.
Brothers Martinian, me, Anil who has studied in Swiss, Moral Theology is the Rector and Br. Jose is the vice rector, a charismatic preacher and good singer
 The garden is green and very fertile land...it has been raining every evening...its a blessing for the farmers here
 The church and the friary....there are two sisters congregations who regularly come for the Mass along with some lay people.......the friars also teach in the novitiate of one of the sisters....
 You are greeted by St. Francis.....big statute with hands widespread......
 Who doesn't like cricket in India? The friars too are found of Cricket. It has been raining still the spirit of cricket is not dampened at all....the IPL is on and there cricket fever all over India...newspapers are full of cricket new...
 Small chapel....accommodates around two hundred people.....
 Syrian liturgy is very meaningful and rich....i concelebrated the Mass along with the Friars....even if you don't understand the language the participation of the laity automatically takes you in the liturgy...wonderful singing by the entire congregation.....

 It is summer vacations and the brothers are all gong for vacations.....these are only three.....looking after the house and garden....very talented candidates....
