SHANTI SADAN, TAMBESRA, UDAIPUR DIOCESE, RAJASTHAN

THE capuchins have been missionaries for number of years in this part of Rajasthan. The province of Krist Jyoti re-entered in this mission to look after the Catholic villages which are scattered. Today there are 500 catholic tribal families mostly poor and laborers. The friars have a boarding and a parish. There are 70 boys coming from neighboring and far off villages. Most of the boys are Hindus and Catholics. The sisters run the school which was started by the Capuchins and later handed over to the Sisters of Holy Cross founded by the Capuchins.
Most of the boys have gone home for summer vacations.....few of them are waiting for their parents to come and take them along
The friars have about 25 acres of land but unfoturnately no water....Rajasthan is always drought area as the rains are scanty.
The boys do all their work and also work on the vegetable garden...

This is the campus of the friary and boarding......
Good and quite place...Ideal for contemplation....some years back some anti social element had attacked the friary....
The guardian of the house who is here for last 4 years....doing well and giving his best....

The convent and school of the sister....
The parish church and the Marian grotto...here the celebration of Grotto feast is very common....

 Inside the church...well decorated...
The cows and oxen are let loose......

 The boarders and the fraternity....
