Visit to North East India

The Capuchins have been working in North East India for last 20 years and the growth is tremendous. The Province of St. Joseph, Kerala went to Assam and Meghalaya, Province of Karnataka was asked to take up the rest of North East. Today we also have St. Francis working in Arunachal Pradesh for last 8 years. There is one custody and three delegations. The Lord has been very generous to the Capuchins in terms of vocations. There are local vocations coming to the capuchins, The hard work of the friars has worked wonders here. The friars are most wanted by all. The mission is tough and hard too. The area is infested with different militant groups. The Church is very active in the field of education and social work, The church is also trying her best to win over these different groups.
Br. Hugo who is responsible for the Missions is visiting these places along with me. We left yesterday morning for Delhi. I left by Emirates and Hugo left by Turkish airways. We are going to meet at Delhi airport and from here fly out to Guwahati. We request all of you to pray for us and also for our missionary brothers.
