The Joy of Sharing

On a railway platform in Mumbai, i witnessed sharing and giving to others from Little that one possess. It was an afternoon when the platforms were all crowded. One old man comes around to beg and as usual people shoo him away or to avoid the beggar many change their places. I was siting in a corner and observing the reactions of each traveller how they dealt with the beggar. some gave with smiles, some gave without looking at the face of the beggar. Some gave him with anger and still some drove him away with bad words. And yet the beggar just went on asking for alms. He knew that there are good souls who will share with him. Most of those who shared with were ordinary working class people who themselves ear a little but when it comes to sharing they are the first ones. The so called rich have reservations to do so...they might spend money on their dogs and pet animals, some of them might spend on make up etc.....
what surprised and gave me pleasant shock was to see the beggar going to a corner where another beggar lying on the floor covered with a dirty bed sheet, may be suffering from some disease. He shared what he received from others, i saw biscuits, bread and some other eatables. He observed the joy and happiness on the face of that man. they got into conversation. i overheard the first beggar saying that God has been generous today. He said that he received more today than any other days.
There are generous people all around. Jesus teaches us today to share with others. He is asking us to do something for them. Let us not blame others and government but start doing something. Share and give from what we have. It may not be a 100Euro bill but a smile, touch and hand shake. It will create wonders and miracles. The miracles of Jesus are repeated even today in the person of Pone Francis and many good Christians, priests and religious. Let us continue to establish the kingdom of God, Let our focus be a human Life........
