Br. Antonio Belpiede preaches in Curia Generale

The Christian is first and foremost a disciple of Jesus, not the one who fulfills the law . The Pharisees were obsessed with the literal and meticulous implementation of the law , but they had completely lost the spirit . Hence the words of Jesus: "Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees ... " .
Love is not primarily a widespread feeling to always do what we want , but otherwise the engine of the service of others , according to the divine plan. And it is for this reason that Jesus enumerates the six cases of daily life - we will see today the first three - which manifests this love concrete : reconciliation with one's neighbor, not angry , not to insult anyone, do not commit adultery, nor the desire , to avoid the sin even though there is as loyal to your eye or your right hand, not divorce from a valid marriage ...The contrast with the criteria that govern the world today could not be greater . For what values to Christians would bet ? Once again we are comforted by the statement of Christ : "Heaven and earth will pass away , but my words shall not pass away" (Matthew 24:35) .
