A Day of Fast and Prayer for Peace in Syria

Pope’s anti-war tweet perplexes followers - The Local
The whole world is going to fast and Pray for peace in Syria today. It is a sincere and genuine call given by the Holy Father to avoid a possible attack on Syria. The G-20 leaders have not come to any conclusion. All the world leaders have appealed to restrain from attacking Syria. The appeal not to attack does not mean that they approve what is done and being done in Syria. But war is not the solution. There could be a dialogue and sitting together to sort out the problems.
Today in Vatican from 7-12pm there will be prayer service conducted for peace in Syria. It is awaited by one and all here in Rome. It is expected that a large number of people are going to participate in this prayer service. It is a chance for all of us to feel one with all Syrians. It is a moement to express our solidarity with them through fasting and prayer.
From General Curia many friars are going to attend this prayer service. Let us pray wherever we are for Syria. Let us storm heavens so that War may not happen not in Syria but in the entire world. May people lay down their arms and embrace one another. Let there be Peace and Joy all over the world. Let those who Love humanity give up the threats of war. May God be with us.
