I returned yesterday after my retreat to Adoration cloistered sisters in Gujarat after 23 hours of journey.....i reached La Verna our fraternity for Lunch....while listening to the Radio the announcer announced that in coming two days Pune might get show light to heavy showers.....immediately i informed the brothers in the community that we need to collect the onions which are matured and ready to be harvested......
All the Theologians have gone for their summer and Easter Ministry.....some of them are preparing for their final profession.....only two brothers and we three friars are at home....decided to harvest the onions....we began at 5.30pm as it is very hot here in Pune....
The crop is very good as the brothers have taken good care of it....size of the onions is also quite satisfactory....
These are white onions from Vasai where people grow these only for salads....they are little sweetish ..
We have not finished harvesting....these morning we began at 6am....and could only complete half...
This evening we will complete.....before the rain gods come down.....if you would like to taste these onions....please send your requests....
