St. Joseph: An Upright Man

In today's world we hardly get to hear this positive remark about another person who is Upright and sincere in his thoughts and deeds like St. Joseph. It is an honor for any one to be considered and known to be an upright man. It is not a fruit of one day or one month but it is the fruit of many years of being faithful to God and oneself. The upright person is sincere and open, he does not wish any bad or negative for others. He is the person who looks at the heart of the person and judges.

An upright man like Joseph in the case of Mother Mary and her situation before the marriage, any normal human person would think what Jospeh thought. But in case of Joseph has good intentions for Mary and so he decides. But God who has bigger plans for Mary and Joseph reveal that they be together. A man who decided to leave Mary, accepts the responsibility to be with her to fulfill the salvific plan of God for the world.

Joseph begins a family on a sure and strong foundation of faith, hope and love. He entirely trusts the Lord and Mother Mary. His energies are doubled with the acceptance of Jesus as his son and Mary as wife. God keeps blessing him. There are no special privileges granted to him but allows Jospeh and Mary to live normal human lives like any other person.

Joseph and Mary begins their relationship with God, the father as their foundation and wall of family. They add many things to walls and pillars of their house like faith, love, acceptance, respect, hope and love.

As we celebrate Christmas within week's time let us add all those values which Joseph added to his earthly family. Let us not just live one another in a house but live in a home where there is love and hearts are connected and sensitive towards each other. It is not giving and receiving but being there for each other...to be a source of support in all good times and bad times....making one to feel that he is accepted for what they have but for what they are.....To be united with our loved ones...a real loved can be experienced only in home and not in a house where there is no unity and communion.
