Happy Diwali!!!!!!

India celebrates the most awaited Feast of Diwali. It is the feast celebrated by all irrespective of religion, caste and creed. The feast unites one and all, from south to North, west to east. There is no state in India, which does not celebrate this feast of light. It gives hope and encouragement that darkness could be over come…the evil one will not last long but there is victory around the corner…the lamps lit all over remind that each one has to make shine the light we carry within…the feast unites one and all….not just with sweets and wishes but promises of helping and supporting one another….lighting a lamp to dispel the darkness from the society. The great victory of good over evil by lightning lamps in houses is a sign that we welcome the Lord to be our host and master…to allow Him to be the Lord of our lives and society.
This feast is time to thank the Lord for all that we have had and to pray for more in future so that one could share with those who don’t have…pray for the moments of happiness and prosperity in ones lives and those of the others…make someone’s life brighter by sharing the light of gifts and talents that we have received from the source of light.
As a child I still remember how our Hindu brethren would share the sweets etc with us. I come from a place called Vasai where Hindus and Christians live in peace and harmony for centuries….we speak same language and have same traditions...which unite us strongly…during the Diwali even Christians light the lamps…burn crackers….everyone joins in it….young and old dressed in colorful attire….it gives you a feeling of newness and spiritual energy
