Who is the Needy?

The parable of Good samaritan is very powerful, insightful and popular. It touches the core of our being and allows us to be merciful and compassionate towards others. Who is my neighbour is the question asked by many and the answer is given in the Gospel today. The answer really makes us to to think twice and leads us to search and find out the real neighbour who could be in the family, the next door person who is needy, someone in the office who needs our comforting words and look.

The people who keep asking questions about the real neighbour and needy are the ones who really don't want to do anything. They are always complaining that they don't have time, money and a lame excuse is that there are many needy ones whom should we help. Where there is true love there will be always a way to see and identify the neighbour.
All those who are need are our neighbours... There are parents who are needy of care, love and compassion ...they are left out....no one to take care or smile at them.....i am sure they are our most neediest neighbours on the earth..
Are few like Mother Teresa etc. are called to be good samaritans or all of us have received a vocation from the Lord to be compassionate, loving and merciful? I repeat there are those disadvantaged, poor denied justice and rights, the down-trodden, segregation based on caste, creed and economic status who are our neighbours.
These flowers attract close to them all people....far and wide....they don't distinguish .....they bring smiles on the face of everyone....they really remind us that we need to be like them and the great Good Samaritan....
