On his assuming the charge of the archdiocese of Bhopal, Archbishop Eugene D'Souza invited the Capuchins to work in the newly carved out diocese.After due negotiations the Maltese Capuchin Province took charge of the Bhopal Mission in 1966, and the district of Hoshangabad was entrusted to their care. The Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus, Itarsi, was made the residence of the Superior Regular. The Provincial Chapter of 1987 voted in favour of accepting the State of Madhya Pradesh as the mission of the Holy Trinity Province. Since then some more friars have been working in the mission.
In 1997, when Br. Vincent Gabriel Furtado was the Provincial Minister the new Friary was completed. In 1998 the new church was blessed and inaugurated by Archbishop Pascal Topno S.J

They cook for themselves....everyday morning breakfast is prepared by them....good cooks.....they love to be in the kitchen ....look at the smile......
There are only two friars....Br. Joy is the parish priest and superior...Br. William is the co-pastor....he studied his theology here and is well versed in Hindi.....Joy too speaks good Hindi....it is the language used here.....
