Shanti Niketan Ashram and St. Mary’s Church, Miryalaguda



The Capuchin friars came to this place of the diocese of Nalagonda to serve the poor. Since then the capuchins have been faithful to the diocese mission and vision. The friars have been involved for last 40 years in building the kingdom of God. Today they have a beautiful Church built with the hard work of the friars and major contribution from the parishioners. It is vibrant parish in the diocese. The province sends young and talented friars to care for the parish. The capuchins are known here for their preaching and singing; they go round evangelizing the people. The friars also look after the SFO families….
There 250 families with 6 substations where the maximum number of families is 10. The friars go every week to celebrate the Eucharist and other sacraments. There is a congregation of the sisters of FMM who collaborate with the friars. They run an English medium school. The people in the town are simple and low salaried group.
 Friars at the Dam of Nagarjun sagar....which took about 15 years to build....it is a huge one which drinking n for cultivation....
