Visitation at Monte Mariano, Farangipet

One hour drive from Belthangady brought me to Frangipet……the first Noviciate house….cradle of the Indian Capuchins….here many have done their noviciate and many have spent solid years of Capuchin spirituality. It is like a home coming. You never get bored here. It is a paradise. It is on the river bank…..surrounded by natural beauty…..if you are spiritually bored and bogged down…walk down few steps and you are on the bank of an ever flowing water…..it is life line of Mangalore….I have spent three precious years of my capuchin life……a place to pray and reflect…..You are most welcome….
I began this evening the pastoral visitation with a prayer service and and eucharistic adoration….there are 7 friars and 10 novices from Karnataka and KristJyoti……Tomorrow is the sacerdotal golden jubilee of Fr. Cornelius Monteiro. He was with me in Theology house in Mysore….he was our treasurer…very jovial and fraternal friar……tomorrow morning at 10am we have a solemn eucharist……His family is hosting it and organised by the fraternity….the novices are getting ready ….singing practice is on and some are decorating the chapel…..the friary has a new look….Br. Gerald, Guardian has changed the face of the friary….simple and very much capuchin…..
Br. Lawrence Dilraj, ex-missionary in Uganda....watering the garden,....he is looking after the garden and live stock....very active....Grace of working....a great example for the holy novices....
 Renovated altar.....and sanctuary
The brothers are getting ready some of the food items.....

Brothers Pius and Dilraj in the refectory....
Novices and Edwin Colaco....novice master....next to him is a deacon and Br. Aloysius
