This Christmas - a little closer to the Lord of Life.....

Every year we celebrate Christmas with some intentions of changing our life style or giving ourselves another chance to be a better persons. Christmas comes and then we fall back to square one. All the hustle and bustle of Christmas drowns all the good intentions which we thought of introducing just get vanished away in the wind. We also get lost in the daily routines and problems of life that we just don't care for what we thought of ourselves during the Christmas. The birth of Jesus offers us a golden opportunity to look at our lives, the loopholes and the most important things of life ignored by us intentionally. We know we feel the dryness of our spirit and energy.
Three days away and we will celebrate the feast of Christmas with pomp and show, gifts and good food, visits and prayers, carols and parties.....but can we stop a while and look deep into the reality of Christmas. In silence and mediation, can we really understand the meaning and come closer to Jesus the Lord. Can this Christmas make us stop a while and look at our faith and relationship with Jesus.....what connects me with Jesus? what is the motive and purpose of my being related to him.....can we feel connected to Jesus always or only occasionally like when we are in trouble and suffering?
There are many negative areas in our life which do not allow the Lord Jesus enter into...they block the grace of Jesus to enter into and transform us.....the presence of Jesus in our life demands a lot and he asks us to do more than what we do at the moment......the demands of jesus are very simple and yet forceful....they make us to think and make a choice either of Him or for satan.....we get to used to many things which destroy us in the course of time....so Christmas invites us to give up those things which alienates us from Jesus and his love. we tend to hid many things from Jesus.....what we confess is only the half truth and not the whole truth....and that is why a strong and powerful sacrament like confession does not work its miracle in our life because we have a negative approach towards it.....
The negative things that we have accumulated inside us could be big or small....the author and cause could be we ourselves or external forces.....these negatives could be un-forgiveness, hurt feelings nurtured and nursed over the period of time, many small sins which have become now big and we are not able to handle them well..Jesus calls during this christmas to come closer to him....let us talk to him openly....let us enter into a new relationship with him....Christmas is the door to enter into a loving relationship with a God who waits for us .....
