Visitation of the Province of St. Anthony, Goa

After the break of one month, I am back again to India to conduct the pastoral visitation of the Province of Goa. I was warmly and fraternally welcomed by the provincial and the secretary at the airport. They had to wait since the flight was delayed. The drive from the airport to the Monte Guirim is about one hour. Goa is beautiful after the Monsoon. You see everywhere green. The tourist are now pouring in from all over the world. The indian tourist too are flocking at this time. It is good to see people from all over the world. Goa is a safe place too. i did not arrive as a tourist but i know Goa well.....since i have worked here when were together as one province. It is always a feeling of home coming.....
senior most friar...he is 94 years old but if you ask him he says 97 years.....he has been a missionary in Papua new guinea.....he has a strong memory....when he met me yesterday .....he said that he knows me well....

 The ex-Bishop of Mumbai, Ferdinand Fonseca expired this morning.....

 The Monte de Guirim fraternity is small now than before....the friars are young...energetic.....Guardian is Br. Romeo and rest of the fraternity members.....welcomed me warmly and fraternally
Yesterday we met together....an opening talk on Being Minor......the friars were all present.....

 Novena to st. Francis is going on here....the boarding boys who sang for the Mass...guys are good singers....the number has gone down to 55 boys...once upon a time there used to be 400 boarders....the parents don't want to send their children to boarding, prefer them to have at home...
