5th Day - Final Talk on Spirituality of Authority John Chapter 21

Chapter John 21
·      We as friars need more information
·      Personal visits to the friar are a best way to solve the problems.
·      A disciple who is loved needs the authority, needs a pastor to guide
·      Peter demonstrates authority more clearly
·      Jesus is risen….the disciples decide to fish in the sea whole night….Jesus arrives there and asking them to try on the other side of the sea……
·      Jesus knew where the fish was because he had created the fish
·      We need to respond to the call of the Holy spirit to serve
·      The availability of the friars to serve
·      Election is not electing a friar but a discernment during the chapter
·      God always does something for us…but he asks our availability
·      Priests friars who are guardians don’t always make good guardians but lay friars make it best, as the fraternity becomes his place of apostolate and ministry.
·      Disciples called to be fishermen and make everyone in the world as disciples of Christ.
·      I know Jesus in my heart
·      Jesus repeatedly asks question to Peter, Do you love me?
·      Jesus gives the new possibility to begin anew, possibility to love
·      Those who have authority need to know that we are weak and sinful human beings
·      Eros – material love
·      Phileo – friendship
·      Agape – profound love. Jesus is asking Peter to show his profound love
·      God asks of us what is possible and not more than our capacity
·      We are not perfect human being and yet the Lord accepts us as we are
·      We need to ask for sacrifice even if they are not in position to respond
