Fr. Paul Hanbridge passes away

Fr Paul Hanbridge was born in 1952, professed his First Vows in 1974 and was ordained a priest in 1979. He has lived in various fraternities over the years, Leichhardt, Wynnum, Plumpton, the Hermitage in Murrurundi (since closed), and in the General Curia in Rome. He has carried out a variety of ministries, such as parish priest, itinerant presbyter with the Neocatechumenate, postulant director, prayer as hermit, and archivist  and vicar in the General Curia in Rome. He is currently in the fraternity of Leichhardt engaged in uniting himself more fully with the Cross of Christ as he lives out his experience of terminal prostrate cancer. The interview below took place in the late 1990's.

Fr. Paul who worked in the General Curia for more than 6 years has left good memories. Many friars who lived with him speak good about him. That he was a man of Prayer, said the Genernal Minister. He continued saying that he was one of those few friars who would be the first ones to be present in the chapel for prayer and meditation. Br. Mark schenk who knew him well announced the death of Fr. Paul yesterday evening,. We all prayed for him. We have been praying for him these days. Three days back the Geneal Minister announced to the fraternity about Paul and requested all friars to pray for him. There are many more friars who lived with him will definitely have some good experience with Paul.
We continue praying for our dear deaparted Brother Paul's soul. May the Lord grant him eternal life. We pray also for the province of Australia
These are the words of Br. Paul: "My little experience has shown that where the Lord has called me He has always provided."
