I want a poor church for the poor – Pope Francis
ü
Central value of our life: work
ü
First plenary to reflect on this aspect of our
life
ü
Work as a means of support
ü
Work and fraternal life
ü
Work and the life of prayer
ü
Work and sense of belonging
ü
Work and temptation of individualism
ü
PCO involves fraternal life, minority,
evangelization, mission, finances, poverty, relationships with employees
ü
We must reflect on two central values of our
life: fraternity and minority, we are friars minor
ü
Changes in the globalized world that touch us
closely and to which we must respond
ü
Circular Letter of General Minister: The grace
of working
·
Unwritten agreement between benefactors and
friars: you pray for us and we are ready to support you. Today it is changed
because our lives have changed
·
Second powerful change is the constant decrease
in traditional pastoral work. The offerings that we receive for Holy Mass are
always decreasing
·
If pastoral work is diminishing, why do we need
employees. We have the employees in order to have time to do what? What
occupies our time?
·
What about our empty friaries? Should we sell
them or keep them because they are large parts of the fruits of gifts to us and
must still generate giving and not just income
·
Now process of solidarity is also changing. How can
we encourage the young circumscriptions such that they grow more decisively
towards economic independence, finding worthy work, even beginning to cultivate
their own garden?
·
The large amount of intellectual capital must
make the rounds and bring forth concrete fruit.
