One Year of Service

Last year the Capuchin Order Celebrated LXXXIV general Chapter from 20th August to 22nd September 2012 and elected the New general definitory. Br. Mauro was re-elected and only one outgoing definitor was re-elected. I was one among the 8 newly elected General definitors. The year has been full of excitement and experience, year of animation and learning, year of knowing and exploring, year of being a brother and learning about International brotherhood. My sack of experiences is getting filled up day by day.

The team work has been wonderful and there is a lot of understanding and co-operation on the part of each definitor. The Meetings are places of encounter and sharing with one another our experiences in our areas of animation. The hallmark of our animation is the team spirit under the guidance of able leadership of Br. Mauro. His vast experience of last six years is something that we cherish and carry along with us as we go around animating our areas.
Fro me the year has been a wonderful experience. I participated in two elective chapters and one extraordinary chapter, two conference meetings and visits to all the Provincial definitories. The meeting with Provincial definitories was a great learning experience,Sharing with them the expectations and the role they ought to play in animating their jurisdications. The best experience which I had was while visiting the North East, especially Arunachal Pradesh. It was memorable and cannot forget it.
Animating CCMSI is a great Joy and the Provincials are mostly young and energetic. Most of them have solid experieces of animation.
My visit to Uganda Custody was another experience which has strengthened my committment and desire to animate the brothers. The year has been full of surprises and year of learning.
The General Curia is a home where I long to return. Once in Curia I feel at home and it is something that all of us are experiencing. I pray that we continue with same zeal and vigour our animation of the Order.
